Jitter can be very frustrating. To prevent jitter, you can tune the filter that is applied to your pointer. Note that increasing the filter level will smooth your pointer while reducing responsiveness.

For Razer Hydra Configurator Edit

If you use the original Razer driver, this is done by modifying the force_filter.txt file.

The Razer Hydra App comes with this file in its directory (C:\Program Files (x86)\Razer\Hydra\ by default on a x64 Windows machine).

The default force_filter.txt contains 4 values:

800 .93 1200 .98
  • The first number is the distance from the base to start ramping of the filter value.
  • The third number is the distance from the base to end ramping of the filter value.
  • The second number is the start value for the filter
  • The fourth number is the end value for the filter.

What the default values mean:
At 800mm or less, the filter value applied is 0.93.&nbsp At 1200 or more the filter value applied is 0.98.&nbsp Anywhere in between, a linear ramp of the filter value is applied.

A filter value of 1 will completely cancel the signal, effectively disabling the pointer.

For Motion Creator 2 Edit

Motion Creator 2 allows you to configure your filter directly inside the GUI from the Edit > Preferences menu. The filter drop-down menu offers 5 settings for the filter :

  1. Off
  2. Low
  3. Normal
  4. High
  5. Custom

This last option lets you define the same values as found in the force_filter.txt file.

Notes:

  • By default, Motion Creator's filter is defined on Normal, which is a lower filter than the default one for the original Razer Hydra Configurator.
  • You can also choose to manualy add force_filter.txt to the Motion Creator directory, which will override any filter settings made in the GUI.
